There’s no better time to pick up a paintbrush. It’s safe to say the first lockdown brought out sides of ourselves we never knew. Some discovered a talent for cutting their own hair, some perfected the art that is baking sourdough bread while others set themselves the challenge of running 5k. Granted, when the restrictions…
My studio is in Marlay Park in Rathfarnham. Here I can be found painting under the big oak tree outside my studio. I love to paint. I graduated from NCAD and worked with an Art Gallery in NY for a few years. I learnt to be a professional artist over there. They told me to come back when I was 50 years of age. That is the business of Art!
I major in bad art but every now and again I paint a winner. I can loose myself in my art and I love it. It has helped me get through some testing times and I truly believe Expression beats Depression.
I have published children’s books and you can see my work in Duke street gallery in Dublin, The Greenlane gallery in Dingle, Draoight in Adare in Co. Limerick and The Anchor art gallery in Ardmore.
My mother is also an artist and we grew up in a house surrounded by musicians and artists. My earliest memories are playing with the other artist’s kids in Merrion Square while our parents hung their art on the railings in Dublin.
I have taught many workshops and I believe colour can trick your brain to be happy!!
I will keep on painting and I want to thank everyone who has bought one of my pieces. It is twenty years since I painted my first cow painting and I am very grateful for the support from all my collectors over the years.
